A ‘BUBBLE’ tea bar has opened as part of a £350,000 council revamp of a town centre.
Bubble N Squeak is the first shop to open on the former McDonald’s site, Market Street, Chorley, which now houses four units.
Owner, Simon Liu, said: “I first came across bubble tea when I was on holiday in Taiwan three years ago and I knew it would be popular here.
“There are other bubble tea outlets in the UK but they are all in big cities.
“I opened my first in Huddersfield last year and Chorley is my second one.
“My aim is to open five in five different places over five years.”
Simon and his partner, Tina Wade, chose Chorley to set up shop because it is Tina’s hometown.
Bubble tea, also known as pearl milk tea or boba milk tea, is a Taiwanese tea-based drink invented in Taichung, Taiwan, during the 1980s.
Bubble N Squeak will be open Monday - Saturday from 7am.
