A CHORLEY man faces a £340 bill for dropping a cigarette end in a town car park.
Robert Durnan, 27, of Stratford Road, pleaded guilty to littering and was fined £70, told to pay £250 costs and a £20 victim surcharge by Chorley magistrates.
He had been seen smoking a cigarette while walking towards a car parked on Portland Street car park.
He dropped the cigarette as he got into the passenger seat of his car and put on his seatbelt making no attempt to locate a bin or pick up the cigarette.
He was issued with a fixed penalty notice which he failed to pay.
If he had made payment within 10 days, he need only have paid £50.
