SIX posties from Burnley are aiming to deliver vital funds for Pendleside Hospice by taking part in the Pennine Lancashire 10k run.
Ian Gerrity, Mark Greenwood, William Harbour, Shaun O’Brien, Alan Smith and Ian Carrington will hit the streets of Blackburn on July 11 to raise awareness and support for the hospice.
Mr Gerrety said: “Nearly everybody knows who someone who has suffered from cancer and Pendleside do a brilliant job.
“My wife works there so I now hard the staff work and they deserve all the help and support they can get.”
The run, which is being backed by the Lancashire Telegraph, is being organised by Mike Tomlinson, husband of Jane Tomlinson CBE, a mum of three who set up the Run for All charity after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003.
The lads are all encouraging their family and friends to sponsor them to raise much needed funds for the hospice, which provides specialist care to people in Burnley and Pendle with life-limiting illnesses.
