Apprenticeships and Training provider, Themis at Burnley College, is celebrating after being named Skills Provider of the Year 2015 at the Red Rose Awards on 12 March. Following picking up Silver in the Training Colleges category at the Apprenticeships 4 England Awards earlier in the month, the Red Rose Skills Provider Award recognises Themis’ passion for, and commitment to, delivering Apprenticeships and training.
The Red Rose Awards, hosted by Lancashire Business View magazine, bring Lancashire businesses from a variety of industries together to celebrate the innovation and commerce that makes the county great and to shine a spotlight on its fantastic businesses.
Themis has grown exponentially over the last 12 months, with the expansion of the Centre of Engineering Excellence and the opening of a new Construction and Future Technologies Centre at the Princess Way campus. The team works tirelessly to address skills gaps in Pennine Lancashire by providing simple yet effective training solutions to businesses in a variety of industries.
The Skills Provider of the Year award is recognition of the hard work put in by the Themis team but more than that it is a celebration of the outstanding Apprenticeship and Training programmes delivered by employers across Pennine Lancashire. The employers Themis works with understand the importance of developing talent locally and the programmes they deliver in partnership with Themis are an invaluable source of expertise and knowledge. Simon Jordan, Director of Themis, is extremely proud of the Skills Provider of the Year award, stating,
“The employers we work with are the real winners. Their commitment to training and developing their staff is incredible and should be applauded at every opportunity. Themis could not have been named Skills Provider of the Year without them and we look forward to our continued partnership with them in the future.”
