NEW cycle tracks are to be created in the Lowerhouse area in a bid to encourage people to use their bike.
The Sustrans Links to School initiative will fund the £80,000 scheme that will see cycle paths built in Kiddrow Lane, Lowerhouse Lane and Liverpool Road.
Alan Eastham, of Lancashire County Council, said: “The proposals are intended to encourage more pupils to choose cycling as a means of transport to school.
"The scheme would link the Sweetclough Greenway cycle track to a primary school, canal and new industrial estate.”
