A BY-election is set to be held to contest a Burnley Borough Council seat after a Liberal Democrat member stepped down.
Nominations are being sought for the Rosegrove with Lowerhouse seat, previously held by Julie Johnson.
The poll will be held later this month. The Lib Dems had a majority of just 57 over Labour at last year’s election for the seat.
Another councillor, Labour’s Imtiaz Hussain, who represents Bank Hall ward, has also announced he is stepping down.
But because he was due to retire at the end of the municipal year in May, an election will only be held then to determine his replacement.
