THE people behind one of Burnley’s most successful businesses have launched an eBay-style auction website.
Auction4Cars has been set up by bosses at Motorpoint, the 10-acre car supermarket based in Rose Grove Lane.
They say six new jobs will be created to for the site, which will auction vehicles to independent dealers.
Most cars will appear for three days, allowing those interested to bid for stock ranging from small hatchbacks to executive saloons.
Auction winners then receive instructions of how to pay and collection details from the site.
Motorpoint hopes to sell 15,000 cars through the website and display 400 vehicles each month.
James Faulkner, Motorpoint’s group disposals manager, said: “We have always been known for our innovative approach to car retailing.
“We’re extremely confident it will transform the way in which the motor trade buys its cars in the North West.”
