INDUSTRIAL units at the rear of Lowerhouse Cricket Club are set to be reduced in size in a bid to lease them.
The owner of the site was granted planning permission for four units in June 2007, but has found it difficult to let them.
A new application to reduce the size of the units and alter their position will be heard by Burnley council’s development control committee on Thursday.
Despite receiving seven letters of objections from local residents, highlighting concerns over noise from the units and their proximity to houses, the scheme is recommended for approval.
A report by council officers to the committee said that nearby houses were far enough away to be protected from noise disturbance from the development.
