Two more readers have won in the Lancashire Telegraph’s competition giveaway, both collecting £250 in shopping vouchers.
Linda Nichol, from Full View, Blackburn, and David Sharpe, of Moore Drive, Burnley, collected their prizes for the September and August giveaways.
David, 74, was at home when he found out he had been awarded the prize and said the win was “very welcomed”.
He said: “I frequently enter newspaper competitions, but I have not won anything to this value.
“I am a regular reader of the Lancashire Telegraph, and I get the vouchers delivered to the house.
“I enjoy reading the paper and there is a wide range of coverage, and it is a great read.”
The former fire alarm engineer is hoping to spend the money on a new camera as he is trying to pick up the hobby, with an interest in photographing industrial shots and railways.
David added: “It is something I want to do and see if it can go a little bit more upmarket, making it a bit easier.”
Linda, 64, was checking her emails at the dinner table when she discovered that she won it, and she let out a big cheer when she found out.
She said: “I was reading my emails at dinner time, and I got an email, and I went 'Woo yeah'! I always enter stuff, and I never win anything,
“It made a difference because I could start the Christmas shopping.”
The Fuel Tech employee reads the Lancashire Telegraph every day and she enjoys staying up to date with what is going on in Blackburn with Darwen.
Held throughout the summer, the voucher giveaway puts entrants into a pot with the chance to win money towards some winter essentials, and are only open to people who pick up a copy of the newspaper.
