A 10-year-old boy who was mauled by the family's pet dog has been released from hospital.
Callum Chippendale, of Shale Street, Gannow, Burnley, was attacked by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross at around 11.20pm on Wednesday.
The dog was destroyed at the family's request.
The youngster suffered severe facial injuries in the attack and underwent surgery at the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Thursday.
A police spokesman said: "He has been discharged from hospital and is back home. He was released after undergoing surgery."
Callum was taken to the Urgent Care Unit at Burnley General Hospital in the immediate aftermath of the attack.
