A GANG of almost 30 yobs have been "putting lives at risk" by pelting moving taxis with stones.
Cars have been attacked near the Gannow roundabout, Burnley, late at night for the past three days.
Four teenage boys were arrested during an early morning operation yesterday for causing damage to several cars.
Sgt Martin Selway, of Burnley Police said: "We have already arrested youths regarding one spate in Dalton Street.
"We are now following up positive lines of enquiry with these latest spates of damage.
"It is dangerous to throw stones at moving vehicles. Serious injuries could occur due to this mindless form of vandalism.
"Young people might think they are not going to get caught but we will do anything in our power to find them and when we do they will be arrested.
Police recently slammed youths who thought stone-throwing incidents were victimless crimes after they caused criminal damage on Yorkshire Street.
Mohammed Arif, vice-chair of Burnley Private Hire Assoc-iation, said: "I am concerned for the safety of our drivers. It's only a matter of time before some-thing more serious takes place."
