A FORMER pub in Burnley Wood is set to be transformed into housing, just six months after it closed.
The Stanley, in Oxford Road, was shut in May by owners Moorhouse’s, who blamed a lack of trade in the area.
Now Faisal and Rachel Munif have submitted proposals to Burnley Council outlining their plans to turn the venue into four flats.
The applicants, from Heaton Mersey, near Stockport, said minimal alterations may be made to the exterior of the building, while the internal layout would remain.
After it served its final pint in May, Moorhouse’s managing director, David Grant said: “If people aren’t using these pubs, then what are we to do?”
