HEROIN was seized by Lancashire Police from a home in Burnley Wood after a tip-off from a public-spirited resident.
Neighbourhood police in Burnley Wood swooped on a property in Sussex Street yesterday morning after receiving the information from a member of the public.
Officers discovered a number of packets of heroin in the front room and made two arrests.
A 40-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman are being questioned on suspicion of possession with intent to supply the drug, which has been given a street value of £500.
Community beat manager PC Rachel Carroll said: “It is thanks to the local community we have been able to take action to take these drugs off our streets.”
She also urged residents to alert them to drugs activity by calling the non-emergency number 101.
