A BLACKBURN actor has taken the lead role in a star-studded American performance of Peter Pan.
Adam Warren of Whalley New Road, Roe Lee, is performing to packed-out crowds at San Francsico’s Ferry Park theatre eight times a week alongside Titanic and The Mummy star Jonathan Hyde.
He is also starring with his new wife, the English actress Abby Ford, who plays Wendy.
The pair married last month after a whirlwind romance.
Adam, 22, a former Pleckgate High School and Runshaw College pupil, performs under the stage name Nate Fellows.
He was a member of the Ribchester Amateur Theatric Society from 1999 to 2005.
Adam’s mum and dad Valerie and John Warren have been to America to see a show, and said his seven brothers and sisters were ‘over the moon’ at his success.
Mrs Warren said: “It’s very, very intense for him performing eight times a week, and there’s a lot of acrobatics needed for his flying scenes.
"But he’s loving it, and there’s talk of the production moving to LA and even Australia.
“Adam’s always wanted to go into acting and we were jumping around when we heard he’d got the role.”
Last year Adam beat many of Britain’s finest drama students to win the prestigious Laurence Olivier Bursary that launched Ewan McGregor to superstardom.
The £2,500 prize was created by The Society of London Theatre in 1987 to celebrate the 80th birthday of the Oscar-winning performer by helping students with talent facing financial difficulties.
It meant Adam could afford to stay on for the third year of his degree at the Birmingham School of Acting.
But just a month before finishing the course, he was offered the role as Peter after several rounds of auditions in London.
He flew out to America in April and began rehearsals in May.
Mrs Warren added: “It was very impressive. He’s taken to it like a duck to water and the whole thing was amazing.”
