A GROUP of friends are in training to climb Ben Nevis for charity.
The 12 mates, who all live in the Roe Lee area of Blackburn, are to take on the challenge of climbing Scotland’s highest mountain for the Help for Heroes charity.
Their training got underway at the weekend when they scaled Pendle Hill, East Lancashire’s highest peak.
Organiser Jason Walker, 29, a construction student at Blackburn College, said the group got the idea at the Stanley Arms pub, in Blackburn, where sponsorship is collected.
The charity raises cash for members of the armed forces.
