Arthur and Peggy Shaw, who met playing table tennis, have served up 60 happy years of marriage.
Since celebrating their wedding at St Anne’s Church, Blackburn, on March 19 in 1949 the pair have never looked back.
Arthur, 84, worked for Matthew Brown Lion Brewery in Blackburn for 42 years and has been the president of Ribblesdale League since 1984.
He started playing cricket for Blackburn Northern shortly after he married Peggy, 81, who was a shorthand typist.
The couple of Roe Lee Park, Blackburn, will be celebrating with their children and grandchildren.
Peggy said: “We just put up with each other. He is very calm and collected and we get on really well.”
