A BLACKBURN man who fell over and banged his head after a night out drinking died the following day, an inquest heard.
Michael Byrne, 56, of Whalley New Road, Blackburn, died on October 17, a hearing at the town hall heard yesterday.
Michael Singleton, coroner for Blackburn with Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley said Mr Byrne had fallen over several times the evening before his death.
He said: "That following morning he was unresponsive.
"An ambulance was called however the paramedic pronounced life extinct at the scene."
A post-mortem examination was carried out by pathologist Muhammed Aslam which showed a fatty liver due to alcohol causing liver damage, the inquest heard.
Doctor Aslam said the cause of death was fatty liver.
The coroner recorded a verdict that Mr Byrne died of natural causes.
