A BLACKBURN schoolgirl has suffered double heartache after thieves stole her bike for the second time in five months.
The 11-year-old discovered her bike had been taken from a locked shed near her mother’s home, on the Shadsworth estate, at 6.50pm on Tuesday.
A padlock on the shed, in Glenluce Crescent, had been broken open, and her red and black BMX bike was missing.
The girl’s mother, 41, said: “She was crying her eyes out. Her heart is broken and my child is left without a bike.
“It’s not the first time it’s happened as she, and her sister, had bikes stolen from their aunt’s house, in Orkney Close, in March.”
The mum-of-three urged other residents to be vigilant, as there have been reports of other children’s bikes being stolen in the area.
She said: “I’m angry and disgusted. We can’t keep buying her bikes when thieves are going around helping themselves.”
