OFFICIALS at Blackburn Rovers Football Club wished a fan injured in a hit and run outside the ground a speedy recovery.
Disabled John Boothby was hit by a car as he crossed Bolton Road while leaving Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Fulham.
He was on the bonnet for 30 yards before he fell and hit the ground.
He suffered severe bruising to his arm, legs, back and hips.
A stretcher bearer, who was heading home, saw what had happened and rushed to his aid.
Mr Boothby said: “I cannot thank him enough.”
A spokesman for Blackburn Rovers said: “As it is a police matter, we cannot really comment on what happened.
“But everyone at the club would like to wish Mr Boothby a speedy recovery and we hope to see him back at Ewood in the very near future.”
