POLICE want to trace two men in connection with a “suspicious incident” involving a bogus delivery.
Detectives said they were investigating a report of two men wearing high visibility vests carrying a large delivery box in Shear Brow, close to its junction with Limbrick, Blackburn.
They knocked on a woman’s door on Friday around 1pm and she took the box, but quickly became suspicious and closed the door.
When she checked, the box was empty.
Police said that although the incident has echoes of a tie-up robbery in Queens Road, Blackburn, on Wednesday, no crime was committed and at the moment the two reports were being investigated separately.
DS Mark Haworth-Oates said: “We are keeping an open mind and investigating this incident separately.
“But one line of inquiry we are looking at are potential similarities.
“The box was empty, so these men were not delivering anything.
"We would appeal for anyone who may have seen the men in the area to contact us.”
One of the men is described as Asian and the other black, both wearing high-visibility vests.
On Wednesday, a 32-year-old woman was bound and gagged in her own home while two men who had pretended to deliver a large cardboard box ransacked her home.
