A FATHER and son were arrested after police made a massive £140,000 cash seizure from a house in Blackburn.
Officers raided an address in Beardsworth Street, and another in nearby Robinson Street, both Little Harwood.
The cash was found inside carrier bags, hidden in a wardrobe in the father’s upstairs bedroom at the Beardsworth Street house.
Police have only just released details of the raids, which took place on April 28.
Two men, aged 31 and 54, and a woman, aged 31, were arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
The woman was released on the same day with no further action.
The men have been bailed until October 27.
Police successfully applied to Blackburn magistrates to confiscate the money for six months while they investigate whether it is linked to criminality, particularly the proceeds of drugs.
The warrants were carried out on the back of community concerns.
The Lancashire Telegraph understands both homes are linked to the same family.
Detectives will now look into the bank accounts of those arrested.
A police spokesman said: “It is the most money we've ever seized.”
