A TEENAGER who hid a till, taken in a shop robbery, under his bed has received a suspended jail sentence.
Karl Atkinson, 19, told police who found it he had put it there so his dad wouldn’t see it.
Atkinson did not take part in the shop raid, or take the till, but the thief who did is currently serving three years, Burnley Crown Court heard.
Atkinson, who was already on a suspended prison term, got another, after admitting handling stolen goods.
Atkinson, of Sandwich Close, Shadsworth, Blackburn, received nine months in a Young Offenders’ Institution, suspended for a year, with 12 months supervision, and 100 hours unpaid work.
He has a record for burglary and shoplifting.
