A FARMER has urged dog walkers to keep their pets under control after three sheep were killed.
John Pawson, of Pawson’s Farm on Blackburn’s Witton Park estate, claims dogs on the popular beauty spot mauled three of his breeding yews in the space of 48 hours this week.
He found one sheep in the car park of the Clog and Billycock restaurant on Tuesday morning and another two the same day.
Mr Pawson said: “Unless the dogs can be kept to heel then their owners shouldn’t let them off the lead.”
Legislation allows farmers to shoot animals on their land which are harrassing livestock.
