A LOLLIPOP lady who “brightened up” St Paul’s RC Primary School has moved on after four and a half years in the job.
Marie Campbell has taken a job as a special needs teacher at St Bedes’s – a specialist sports college that deals with older children.
As well as helping children avoid danger on the areas roads, Mrs Campbell has also helped out on school trips, heard readers, and stood in for dinner ladies.
Heather McGowan, deputy headteacher at St Paul’s, said: “She was absolutely brilliant – she brightened up the whole school and the children loved her.
"She will be missed by us all, but I’m sure she will be a great success in her new role.”
