A MAN wanted by police after breaking the terms of his early prison release has been arrested after appearing on the BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow.
Ernest (Ernie) Cunningham, 55, of Shadsworth, Blackburn, appeared on the programme on June 1.
He was arrested 13 days later in Clayton-le-Moors after an anonymous call.
Cunningham was originally sentenced to two years in prison in August 2008 for false accounting, but having broken the terms of his early release, was recalled to prison in May this year.
Inspector John Clucas said: “It is really encouraging that there are people who are willing to come forward and I would continue to urge other people to come forward if they have any information about any of the people who are wanted by police.
“We never give up in tracking down people who are wanted and it is in their best interests to give themselves up.”
