BLACKBURN with Darwen’s library service has become only the third in the country to win an award for the quality of its study support provision.
The award, Qiss accreditation, is more usually given to schools and for a library service the recognition is rare.
Wensley Fold CE Primary School, Manor Road, has also been given the award.
Coun Michael Law-Riding, executive member for leisure and culture, said: “Local libraries are recognised as centres of excellence. I am especially proud and delighted with this achievement.”
