DIANA Vickers’ schoolfriends are backing the singer to make the X Factor final.

Westholme pupils posed with Vote Diana posters to show their support for their 17-year-old friend.

Vice Principal Anne Patefield said: “The girls are all very interested in how she’s doing and if one of the sixth-formers gets a call from her at the weekend, everyone wants to know how she is and what she’s said.

“Everyone is really proud and of course we’ve all been listening to her sing much longer than other X Factor fans.

“Diana was usually the soloist at our awards evenings and usually features in our musicals.

"She played Captain Von Trapp in the Sound of Music and played the lead in Annie.”
