VANDALS caused hundreds of pounds of damage at an infants school after breaking in and stealing a laptop computer.
The incident, at 11pm last night, saw thieves break into Shadsworth Infants School, Rothesay Road, Blackburn.
A window was forced open and then several internal doors were damaged during the raid before the laptop was taken.
Headteacher Barbara Booth said: “It is very upsetting for everyone at the school when something like this happens.
“It will undoubtedly have an impact on school budgets.”
She said that the external window at the front of the school was damaged as well as three classroom doors as the burglars searched for something to steal.
It is thought that two people carried out the raid and scenes of crime officers have examined the scene.
