BRIDES and bridegrooms attended the Lancashire Telegraph’s Wedding Fayre yesterday to find the special touches for their big day.

Over 500 people browsed stalls at the event, at Ewood Park, Blackburn.

Hundreds of ideas were available on how to create the perfect wedding, with exhibitors including photographers, singers, musicians, jewellers and cake makers. Balloons, flowers, favours and chocolate fountains were also on display.

Two catwalk shows, displaying stunning bridal gowns, classic bridesmaid dresses and smart grooms outfits, were organised by Louise Greenwood’s Bridal Wear of Rawtenstall.

Couples could also view a selection of limousines and classic cars parked outside the venue.

One of this year’s fayre’s most innovative wedding ideas was from the Memory Tube company, based in Blackburn. A kiosk is placed in a communal area at the wedding and guests can use it to leave video messages or download photos from their own cameras.

Couple Joanne Carlisle, 28, and Geoff Heys, 30, were searching for ideas for their March wedding in Darwen.

Joanne said: “We’ve been together eight years and engaged for three so we have already done a lot of planning.

"We’re look at some of the last-minute details like balloons, so it has been really helpful."
