MORE than 1,000 staff and students from St Mary’s College, Blackburn, took part in an annual fancy dress fun run through Corporation Park yesterday morning.
The sponsored event, to celebrate St Mary’s Day, raises cash for Derian House Children’s Hospice and Chrisities Cancer Care.
Costumes included characters from the latest Batman film, French maids, camels, frogs, leprechauns, and Pink Ladies. Sarah Flanagan, from the college, said: “It’s a great way for members of the college to get to know each other at the start of term.”
It is estimated that more than £1,000 will be raised.
