A trio of ‘ruthless burglars’ who targeted homes in Blackburn during the summer of 2020 have been sentenced following a police investigation.
Last summer residents in the Ewood area saw a significant rise in the number of thefts.
Police said the suspects were later identified as Jordan Maddocks, Aaron Ormerod and Jack Mason. The three were said to be working together and interchanging to ‘work in ones and twos’.
Following what was described as ‘a proactive, complex and tenacious investigation’ by specialist officers, Ormerod and Maddocks were convicted of burglary and witness intimidation. Maddocks was sentenced to 8 years and Ormerod to three years.
Mason was convicted of burglary and sentenced to 18 months.
A Blackburn and Darwen Police spokesperson said: “This was a lengthy investigation into a group of ruthless burglars persistently targeting the Ewood community, who will no longer be able to continue their criminal activity from behind bars thanks to the burglary team who were also supported by officers from our immediate response teams in Blackburn.
“Lancashire Police will not tolerate anyone who targets individuals in any way and remain resolute in protecting our communities and residents.
