A 46-year-old woman involved in a drink-fuelled row with her partner had sauce poured over her clothes after they had been thrown out of the house, a court was told.

Blackburn magistrates heard Bridget Sculpher was given a "good slap" for good measure.

And to add insult to injury she was arrested for a breach of the peace and spent three nights in police cells waiting to appear in court.

Sculpher, of Shetland Close, Blackburn, admitted a breach of the peace and was bound over in the sum of £50 to keep the peace for six months.

Peter Wild, prosecuting, said during a row with her partner Sculpher started to damage the property and her partner called the police.

"Her partner was also arrested for assault," said Mr Wild.

Roger Pickles, defending, said Sculpher had spent three days in custody as a result of her behaviour which she accepted fell below the standard.

"Her alcoholic partner decided to throw her out and after throwing her clothes downstairs covered them in sauce," said Mr Pickles.
