DANCERS at an academy will be jumping for joy when a borough's first citizen visits one of their sessions.
Blackburn with Darwen Mayor Coun Maureen McGarvey, will visit the Zoe Taylor Dance Academy at Shadsworth Leisure Centre on October 24.
The academy was launched in the upgraded studio at the centre earlier this year.
Classes include ballet, tap, modern gymnastics, cheer-leading and funky jazz, and are open to all abilities from beginners to advance level. Toddlers aged two and over and adults are welcome to attend.
Coun Michael Law-Riding, executive member for leisure and culture said: "We are making sure that there is something for everyone in all our neighbourhoods. So, if you see yourself as a budding Billy Elliott go along."
Classes are from 4pm to 9pm weekdays, except Thursday, and from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays.
For details ring Zoe on 01254 260657 or the leisure centre on 01254 268200.
