SHADSWORTH uncle and nephew team Jason and Michael Duckworth are taking on the Yorkshire three peaks challenge to raise money for Help for Heroes, a charity that supports injured soldiers.
The pair are being sponsored to walk a total of 24 miles, ascending the steep inclines of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in 12 hours.
Father-of-four Michael said: “You hear so much about wounded soldiers, and we both feel like they need all the help they can get. I have a disabled son and we’ve done a lot of fundraising for him, and we know how important charity work is, and the difference it can make.
The team have already been sponsored for £300, but hope to raise much more before the walk on Saturday, September 14.
People can sponsor the team by searching Jay and Mick Duckworth’s Charity Hike on Facebook.
