A PETITION opposing a backdated bid to allow a town centre cafe to continue operating has been noted by councillors.
A petition with 46 signatures has been sent to Blackburn with Darwen borough planning committee, objecting to a proposal to give the official seal of approval for the Kurdish restaurant on Bank Top, Wensley Fold, to operate as a shop and cafe.
The petitioners claim owner Khadam Hussain opened Marshall’s Cuisine on Bank Top as a cafe knowing he needed planning permission without getting it.
The Pakistani-born businessman denies the allegations The petition was officially noted at last week’s meeting and considered when the application is debated fully later this year.
