PLACES are available on a course which aims to keep older people on the roads.
The Drive Safely for Longer course has been developed by the county council to boost confidence and improve safety for older drivers.
In Lancashire, there has been a drop in casualties among people aged under 65 over the past five years, but there has not been a reduction in older casualties.
There are 100 spaces left on the free course which will be allocated on a first come-first served basis.
County councillor Tim Ashton, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “This initiative has already helped a number of older people to continue to drive safely.
“We're not intending to catch drivers out and to take their licences away from them. Far from it, our only aim is to help older people to remain behind the wheel safely.”
