POLICE are urging scooter owners to be extra vigilant after a spate of thefts in the area.
In the last two months, three 50cc mopeds were stolen from Chapel Street, Station Road, and The Esplanade, in Rishton. On each occasion, the mopeds had been left locked, but not chained.
Officers are urging people to be extra vigilant and to invest in a good quality chain, or bike lock, to deter thieves.
PCSO for Great Harwood Steve Charnley said: “Due to their light weight, scooters are an easy target for thieves, and owners need to take extra measures to help protect themselves and their property.”
