HUNDREDS of off-duty police from Lancashire will take part in a protest march in London next month.
The officers will join thousands from other forces for the protest against cuts to their pay, pensions and manpower.
Police Federation chiefs said officers from across the country were prepared to give up their rest on May 10 and take to the streets of the capital.
The demonstration will clash with a one-day strike called by public sector unions over pension changes, but the Police Federation said they will still go ahead with their march, even though the national day of action could reduce the numbers of officers able to take part.
Rachel Baines, chair of the 3,100-strong Lancashire Federation, said: “The strike could cause us some problems, but we are pressing ahead with our protest.
“Our officers are angry, upset and frightened for the future – not only for themselves but for the policing of this country.”
