THE Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen has praised a Darwen hotel after it won a television competition.
The Whitehall Hotel, managed by Neil and Tracy Bullows, won the week’s round of Channel 4’s Four In A Bed, in which four hotel owners stay in each other’s establishment before judging which is the best.
Mayor and Whitehall councillor Karimeh Foster said: “I would like to congratulate the Whitehall Hotel. It was nice to see a local business win the prize.
“It also showed the warm welcome here in Darwen and the great attitude of the owners.
“The way they presented themselves makes us very proud.”
Mr Bullows said it was great to win the show.
He said: “It was fantastic. We had just short of 30,000 hits on the website throughout the week.
“We have had a good few room bookings as well, and we have had some great emails in.”
The programme features one hotel each evening, with the owners’ verdicts coming at the end of the run.
