A MAN was left with a smashed cheekbone after his ex-lodger was said to have hoisted himself up a metal post and kicked him in the face, a court was told.
Christopher Bracewell, 38, had been chasing Jordan Walsh after the defendant had asked to borrow his mobile phone, but had refused to hand it back.
Burnley Crown Court heard the victim was taken to hospital and had a plate fitted to repair the cheekbone.
When the defendant was later arrested and questioned, he made no comment.
Walsh, 27, of Queensberry Road, Burnley, admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm, last August, and was locked up for 10 months.
The hearing was told Walsh had 53 previous convictions.
