FUNDRAISERS are set to walk 76 miles from Turf Moor to Blackpool to raise money for the Gary Parkinson Trust before the teams play each other on Saturday.
Staff and volunteers from Brunshaw Action Group will set off from Burnley in the early hours and aim to be at the Bloomfield Road ground before kick off at 3pm.
They will make the return journey after the match finishes.
The cash raised will be spilt between Brunshaw Action Group and The Gary Parkinson Trust.
Gary is fondly remembered for scoring the winning goal in Burnley’s Division Two play-off final versus Stockport in 1994.
He suffered a serious stroke in September 2010 which left him paralysed with locked-in syndrome meaning he can only communicate through blinking.
