AN inquest has been opened into the death of a Haslingden man thought to have died after being struck by lightning.
The Cheshire Coroner opened and adjourned the inquest into the death of 41-year-old Justin Feber who collapsed at the Bovis Homes Development site in Wychwood Village, Weston, near Crewe shortly before 1.30pm on Wednesday.
The dad-of-one, who lived in Langwood Court, was a sub-contractor at the site by Chorley based Matthews and Leigh Civil Engineering Ltd.
Despite their best efforts of his colleagues and further medical attention from paramedics, Mr Feber died a short time later at Leighton Hospital, in Crewe.
A spokesman for the Cheshire coroner said: “The coroner opened and adjourned the inquest into Mr Feber’s death and it will be reopened at a later date when all witnesses and family members can attend.”
Police also attended the scene and confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.
