A PEDESTRIAN is in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a car outside a pub in Darwen.
The collision happened at 10.35pm on Friday on the A666 Bolton Road outside the Spinners Pub near the junction with Huntington Road.
The pedestrian, a 23 year old man from Darwen, sustained severe head and leg injuries after colliding with an oncoming Vauxhall Vectra saloon as he was crossing Bolton Road.
Sergeant Dave Hogarth said: βAn investigation is underway and I would appeal to anybody that witnessed this collision to come forward and contact police.β
Any witnesses or anyone with any information about the incident should contact Lancashire Police on 101.
The victim is currently in a critical condition at Royal Preston Hospital.
Bolton Road was closed for three and a half hours to allow for an investigation to take place.
