A BLACKBURN man has appeared before magistrates this morning to face a charge in connection with a hoax bomb threat to Stansted Airport.
Paul Jackson, 40, of Infirmary Street, was arrested along with another man on Friday after a call was made to police suggesting a van containing a bomb was on its way to the airport.
Counter-terrorism officers raided two homes in Infirmary Street and spent several hours searching the properties.
Jackson was charged last night and at Blackburn Magistrates Court this morning his case was adjourned for a hearing at crown court.
He is charged with making a false communication.
The other man has been released without charge.
Police said patrols were stepped up at the airport as a result of the hoax call.
