DETECTIVES probing the death of a Rawtenstall teenager have released two men without charge after they were held on suspicion of murder.
Police have confirmed the move in relation to the men aged 25 and 32, arrested following the death of 18-year-old Burnley College student Ryan Anderton.
Ryan’s body was discovered outside an estate agents office in Kay Street, Rawtenstall, at around 3.15am on Saturday.
Post-mortem tests on the former Alder Grange High student have proved inconclusive and an inquest is set to be opened at Blackburn Coroner’s Court today.
Tributes have been paid to Ryan by his mother Catrina Anderton and grandmother Nina Anderton. He had been studying accountancy and finance at the college.
Police have appealed for a woman, aged 28 to 30, around five feet four inches, and with slim, dark shoulder-length hair to come forward.
She was stood near the corner of Bacup Road and Kay Street around 3.45am and may hold vital clues about the circumstances surrounding Ryan’s death.
Witnesses can call police at Burnley on the new non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
