A JUDGE has today jailed two men for a total of 21 years for the manslaughter of an East Lancashire housing manager.
Daniel Jones, 28, of New Mansion House Cottages, Bacup, and Michael Dunphy, 39, from Farnworth, near Bolton, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kidnap father-of-four Paul Brady from an exclusive housing complex in Weir, Rossendale, more than two years ago.
Jones, who is currently serving a five-and-a-half year prison sentence over an unrelated robbery plot, was jailed for 10 years.
Dunphy was jailed for 11 years.
Mr Brady, who was lured to Lynn’s Court, off Beaufort Road, was set upon by a gang of at least 10, armed with baseball bats and a shotgun.
His body has never been found.
An earlier trial at Liverpool Crown Court saw Paul Devalda, 35, of Padiham Road, Burnley, jailed for life after he was convicted of murder and conspiracy to kidnap.
Dunphy was arrested outside a London hotel, where he had fled with Devalda.
Each had obtained false passports in a bid to flee the country.
But he skipped bail and was only re-arrested last April in Manchester.
Jones fled to Spain shortly after Mr Brady’s disappearance.
He was extradited back to the UK last December.
