ARCHITECTS have claimed victory after persuading two sets of councillors to back an internationally-recognised housing development.
Support was secured for the majority of the 18 mews homes and apartments, on the site of The Bramptons, in Colne Road, Reedley, from Burnley Borough Council.
But two proposed properties lay the other side of the Burnley-Pendle border.
The scheme's fate had to be determined by the latter’s Brierfield and Reedley committee.
Councillors have now approved plans, drawn up by London-based Linedota, which will feature in a Shanghai architectural publication.
Architect Christopher C Hill said: “The site owners felt Reedley deserved better quality homes than the usual brick and mortar boxes produced by many volume house builders.”
