RESIDENTS at a sheltered housing scheme are celebrating the £600,000 refurbishment of the development.
A £600,000 revamp of Franklin Ainsworth House, in Great Harwood, has seen residents equipped with new bathrooms and kitchens.
The 25 flats have also had a central heating overhaul, and been redecorated.
Jayne Brignall from Hyndburn Homes said: “The work has seen flats being brought up to Decent Homes standard as well as giving a fresh new look to communal areas and the exterior of the building.”
Resident Hannah Whitehead said: “I think most of us have really enjoyed having the workmen in the place!
"Now all our flats are like new – they are lovely.”
Terry Hannon at Bramall Construction said: “Some of the residents are quite vulnerable and so we have had to plan our work carefully to ensure minimum disruption.
"However, things have gone very smoothly and to celebrate we are hosting a buffet for the residents to say thank you for their support.”
The refurbishment is part of a multi-million pound investment carried out by Hyndburn Homes.
