A YOUNG man and woman are being treated for serious injuries after their car crashed last night on the M65 in Blackburn.
Police closed the westbound carriageway near junction five at Guide, Blackburn, for three hours after the incident at 10.15pm.
Insp Ian Roberts said the blue Peugeot 206 the pair were travelling in crashed 300 yards before the junction five exit.
The man and woman, from Chorley, had to be cut free from the vehicle by firefighters from Accrington. The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with facial injuries and a possible spinal injury. The woman was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with lacerations to her face and head.
Sgt Patrick Worden said: “I appeal for anybody who has seen the blue Peugeot travelling on the M65 to contact the police.”
