Folktronica glitches and samples only work when the songwriting is already brilliant. Tunng's songs are in a blissful league of their own.
Jenny Again is a subtle and sweetly-scored murder ballad with lyrics of evocative everyday poetry: "Sit inside a Little Chef, look around but not at her. See my kisses on her lips, see my fingers in her hair."
Typewriter clicks punctuate the softly-sung, hummed and strummed tune, providing appropriately gentle, Four Tet-like percussion, but otherwise the samples are a touch extraneous.
Thankfully they aren't intrusive - Jenny Again is an amazing straightforward folk song.
